"Ukrainian Van Gogh" Nicholas Glushchenko (1901-1977).
Mykola Hlushchenko (1901 - 1977) - Ukrainian artist, a Soviet spy. Born in Novomoskovsk Ekaterinoslav province (now Dnipropetrovsk region). The desire to draw the young man was transferred to the grandfather, great-grandfather, who enthusiastically wrote Zaporozhye freemen and Cossacks. I became interested in painting the future artist in the Commercial School. His paintings captured Repin, Vasilkovskaja, other well-known painters. Soon Gluschenko mobilization enrolled in the Volunteer Army of Denikin. After some time, with the remnants of the White Guard units he was in Poland. There's got to Shchelkovsky internment camps, and then fled to Germaniyu.Byl in his life at that period of cold and hunger. Mykola Hlushchenko became a phenomenon in Ukrainian history. And not only because of his extraordinary artistic talent. After the disclosure of the KGB archives on its activities as a scout about him began to compose legends. Some of them - a myth, and some, such as companionship with Vinnychenko or album of drawings presented Hitler Fuhrer - reality.
